Yoga Therapeutics

Yogic Physiology, Psychology and Transmission for Healing

A Yoga Vidya Advanced Training Module (part of the 300 hour program). This comprises roughly half of the 300 hour curriculum. It cannot be taken as a separate module.

July 11-12, Aug 8-9, Sept 19-20, Oct 17-18, Nov 14-15 2026

Learn to apply the ancient wisdom of yoga and modern science in a therapeutic context. This module blends cutting-edge neuroscience, subtle anatomy, and somatic psychology with timeless yogic tools. You’ll gain the skills to work one-on-one with students and clients—holding space for their healing, supporting nervous system regulation, and tailoring practices that address real-life challenges. Yoga is the ultimate self-care and healing modality. Its origins go back millennia and have been enhanced, codified, and improved upon to be extremely effective as a modern-day wellness resource.

This part of the program examines yoga therapy's origins and currently practiced applications. Topics covered include anatomy and physiology, the energetic body, types of therapy, Ayurveda, structural and experiential anatomy, the Panchamaya Kosha model, prana’s role in health, client observation, diagnosis and prescription, and much more.

We will also explore Yoga’s role in emotional and spiritual health. Pre-requisites are completion of a 200-hour program or the equivalent, and completion of all other modules in the Yoga Vidya Advanced Training.

Topics in the comprehensive course include:

  • Functional Anatomy

  • Tantra and Ayurveda applied to the individual

  • Yoga Psychology and Philosophy

  • The Subtle (energetic) Body

  • Meditation Theory and Practice

  • Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra

  • Prana and Experiential Anatomy

  • Yoga for Special Conditions

  • Personal consultation with Lauren

In addition to the above-required subjects, enrolled students will complete the course by taking either the Yoga for Young Ones Training or the Trauma-Informed Yoga Training (both are pre-recorded and on demand) or doing a director-approved independent study.
